Criminal Justice/Paralegal Programs

Criminal Justice (Bachelor of Science, Associate of Applied Business, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science, Diploma and Certificate)
With a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, students are prepared for exciting careers in the justice system. Designed both for students new to the field and those looking to advance their current careers, the criminal justice program offers broad perspectives into the industry and balances criminal justice coursework with a general education curriculum to provide a well-rounded educational experience.

The criminal justice associate’s degree program provides students skills to successfully apply criminal investigative procedures, understand law enforcement officer duties, analyze juvenile delinquency, research legal issues, execute and enforce contracts, and prepare legal briefs.

Legal Studies (Bachelor of Science)
Brown Mackie's Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies is great preparation for any student interested in a career as a paralegal or legal assistant. Students study a range of legal topics and learn legal theory and analysis on current issues. The program prepares students to work side-by-side with attorneys to help investigate, interview clients, perform legal research, and draft legal documents.

Paralegal (Associate of Applied Business, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science)
The paralegal program leading to an associate’s degree readies students for careers working with law firms and individual attorneys. Coursework provides students communication and problem-solving skills as well as specific paralegal topics such as applying business law principles, investigative skills, legal records research, attorney trial assistance, and drafting mortgages, contracts, trusts, and separation agreements.

Paralegal Assistant (Diploma and Certificate)
The paralegal assistant diploma program provides students the skills to work under the direct supervision of an attorney. The curriculum focuses on legal writing and research as well as various fields of law, and instruction is completed through courses in law, business, and technology.
